Greetings fellow jewelry lovers, welcome to The Glitzy Gazette!
Thanks for taking the time to relax with us for a minute. My name is Amanda Smith. I am just a West Texas gal that LOVES a little sparkle! I am not a writer, so please bear with me as I kick off this new blog and “pretend” I am a writer. My father, Joe Thacker, started Thacker Jewelry in 1979 in Roaring Springs, TX where he grew up. It is one of those “dot on a map” kind of towns that is not “on your way” to anywhere. Unless you live there, and you are going for a cruise through the countryside. If you have never been, take a Sunday drive! It can be quite an “adventure” for city-folk and is really quite a charming place. If you call ahead, you can even tour our factory!
We wanted to create a platform to share jewelry fun, humor, knowledge, trends, tips, tricks, advice, how to, specials, etc. and give our clients a place to ask questions and ask us what YOU want to know and tell us what YOU want to see! We do our best to stay on top of the “trends” as best we can, but we want to hear from you and take your suggestions into consideration on what we might be missing.
We thought these “unusual times” and the start of a new year would be a perfect time to present some fun, feature special items, share some things we have learned over the years and bring you NEW things we learn as we go!
Most of the time you will hear from me, sometimes perhaps from our “fearless leader”, other members of our amazing staff, our designers, and on occasion you might even hear from my husband! He is a firefighter in real life, but when he is “off duty” he is a great salesman, men’s style guru and just all-around Jack of all trades. You never know what kind of cool information he is going to come up with! Our new adventure for 2021 is learning to balance parenting with working full time. We had our first baby, a little boy in November 2020. Hats off to all the parents! It is hard work and we now officially understand that it is truly a miracle that “any of us kids” have survived in life.
This is going to be a group-effort and an on-going adventure/work in progress. We are delighted that you have taken the time to stop by and hope you will enjoy reading and participate in this adventure with us!
